Cookie policy
Last updated · 30 April 2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Cene Technologies Ltd (“Recron”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on recron.ai and the Recron application. It should be read alongside our Privacy & Cookie Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more generally.
For questions about this Cookie Policy, email our Data Protection Lead at privacy@recron.ai.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences and operate features that depend on persistent state across requests. Similar technologies — such as browser local storage and session storage — can serve the same purpose and are covered by this Policy where we use them.
3. Categories of cookies
The cookies and similar technologies in use on Recron fall into the following categories:
- Strictly necessary — required for the service to operate, including signing you in and keeping your session alive. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
- Functional — remember preferences such as theme or timezone selection. We currently use only a small amount of functional storage in the application UI; none of it is shared with third parties.
- Analytics — help us understand how the site is used. Recron uses Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track individual users.
- Advertising / tracking — we do not use any advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
4. Cookies and storage we use
Recron is a privacy-focused product. We do not run third-party tracking cookies. The first-party cookies and local-storage items we set are limited to what’s required to operate the service:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Strictly necessary |
|---|---|---|---|
| better-auth.session_token | HTTP cookie | Authenticates your active sign-in session | Yes |
| __Secure-better-auth.session_token | HTTP cookie | Secure variant of the above for HTTPS contexts | Yes |
| better-auth.csrf_token | HTTP cookie | Prevents cross-site request forgery on authenticated routes | Yes |
Vercel Web Analytics — used on recron.ai and the Recron application — is cookie-less. It collects anonymous, aggregated data (page views, web vitals, country-level region) and does not track individual users.
5. How long cookies stay on your device
Cookies set by Recron fall into two lifetimes:
- Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser. Used for transient state during a single visit.
- Persistent cookies — remain until they expire or until you delete them. Our session cookies persist for up to 30 days so you don’t have to sign in again on every visit.
6. Legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under UK and EU law because they are essential to deliver the service you have requested. We do not set non-essential cookies, and we do not run any advertising or cross-site tracking technologies.
7. Managing cookies
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to Recron.
- Chrome: support.google.com/chrome
- Firefox: support.mozilla.org
- Safari: support.apple.com/safari
- Edge: support.microsoft.com/edge
You can also opt out of analytics across the web at the browser level using “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signals where supported. Recron honours GPC where the browser sends it.
8. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our business practices. Updates will be reflected by a new ‘Last updated’ date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect.
